Offering 110 bulls
Join us at the 34th Sandon Glenoch Angus Annual Bull Sale, where 110 Bulls That Work will be on offer from Glenoch, Sandon and NB Genetics.
This year we are celebrating 50 years of Glenoch Angus, a significant milestone achieved since Roger registered the “Glenoch” prefix with the Angus society in March 1974. Notably, Glenoch Angus stands as one of the longest continuously owned and directed studs by the original founder. With remarkable growth from 5 to 650 breeding cows over five decades, Glenoch annually sells 200 plus bulls through both the annual sale and by private treaty.
The Flower and Beauty cow families multiplied from those original 5 females and have been the cornerstone of the Glenoch program. There are a large percentage of active females that are now 14 generations of Glenoch prefix from those original cows. Artificial insemination has been used extensively since 1975 using the best genetics available.
In commemoration of the 50-year journey, a standalone Glenoch Angus logo has been established. Our new logo, featuring a bull’s head, pays homage to the late Jack Atkin, the previous owner of the Sandon prefix.
Glenoch Angus has continuously aimed to produce moderately framed, functional, fertile, and adaptable cattle. Our herd has evolved under commercial conditions and breeding decisions are based on genetics that improve the value of our clients’ cattle, in their breeding herd and along the supply chain to produce a sustainable product. We value the relationship that we have with our clients, and we continue to work with them to achieve their objectives.
The resilience and evolution of Glenoch Angus females are a result of natural selection pressures, ensuring performance in Queensland’s diverse conditions. Our bulls continue to adapt and excel in Northern, Southern, and coastal areas of Queensland, demonstrating their versatility and ability to meet the demands of our clients. The feedback that we are continuing to receive from our clients are that “Glenoch bulls thrive and survive and get cows in calf.” Moderately framed cows suit production systems where the aim is to produce a calf that will grow quickly and put weight on as they are not spending time growing into a larger frame and the heifers will reach sexual maturity earlier.
This year’s sale group are once again by Angus breed leading A.I. sires and the best of our homebred yearling bulls. Each year we make our selection of backup bulls from the yearling group based on their physical appearance, actual performance and scan data plus EBV’s. Their dam’s production record is also high on our list of requirements.
We will have a selection of high performance and carcase merit sons of Sterling Pacific, HPCA Veracious, E G Eyes OnYou, Clunie Range Plantation and GAR Ashland.
Throughout June and July, more information will become available about our sale bulls. The earliest and most up to date information will be available at www.glenochangus.com.au.
Bidding will be available online through Auctions Plus. Please feel free to arrange an inspection of the bulls prior to the sale, or if you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
All the best,
Roger & Tam Boshammer
