About glenoch

Glenoch Angus is a combination of Sandon and Glenoch prefixes. The Late WJ Atkin (Jack) originally founded Sandon Angus in 1969, and his nephew RJ Boshammer (Roger) followed suit to establish Glenoch Angus in 1974.

The two herds shared similar breeding philosophies, and while separately owned, were operated under the same umbrella for management and marketing purposes until Jack’s passing in 2018 and the Sandon Glenoch Angus name continues on with the annual on-property sale.

The Boshammer family have all contributed to the Sandon Glenoch Angus sale under this banner with prefixes, JK (Justin and Kate), Canaga Angus (Allison and her son Tom), NB Genetics (Nick and Kate) and Belinda (sells under the Glenoch Angus banner with the late Jack Atkin (WJ) holding the Sandon prefix. Justin and Kate, and Allison and Tom, are selling their bulls separately at their own on-property sales and by Private Treaty throughout the year.

Tam has been an integral part of Glenoch Angus since 2011, being actively involved in all aspects of the business. Originally from Glen Innes, NSW, her family breed horses and have cattle and sheep. Her interest in Angus cattle began nearly 40 years ago and she shares her passion of horses and campdrafting with Roger. She has 3 children, Jock, Claudia, Susanna and a grandson, Albie.

Glenoch Angus is now under the stewardship of Roger and Tam where they seek to breed quality cattle that meet the needs of the commercial cattleman both in their herd and when they sell their product. Their vision for the future encompasses their values of integrity, commitment and loyalty.

WHY AND HOW ANGUS CATTLE CAME TO SANDON

When Syd said “Jack I need more cattle with Angus in them every time I enter a Hoof and Hook competition with Angus or Angus-cross cattle – I win! Angus fatten from the inside out, while Herefords fatten from the outside first and have too much exterior fat”…
